Emma Brown

Emma Brown

Director Public Affairs & Communication at CropLife Europe President of SEAP
Emma is a Belgian-born, British-bred, and Irish-partnered public affairs and communications expert with over a decade of experience. She has advised clients across health, environment, agriculture, and financial services, and previously led the Brussels office of a global strategic communications consultancy. Currently working in the trade association sector, she is also a dedicated rugby fan and avid Swiftie.
Dan Sobowitz

Dan Sobowitz

Social and impact-tech entrepreneur | Communication Adviser of EU institutions | Human rights, democracy, and peace activist
Dan is a Swiss-Israeli-Hungarian citizen based in Brussels with his husband and two children. A communications professional and stage moderator, Dan has worked across the EU institutions, including in the cabinet of a European Commission Vice President and with EU Bubble communication agencies. He is the Managing Director of the European Startup Prize for Mobility, a Senior Adviser at Burson, and the founder of spreadable.io.

Ilaria De Simone

Government Affairs | Food and Feed Safety Regulatory Manager
With roots in Italy and a home in Brussels, Ilaria is a scientist by training who loves bringing evidence into advocacy conversations. Outside work, she enjoys cooking, kickboxing, and pottery – because why choose between strength and creativity. At our NGO, she helps create spaces where inclusion thrives.
Mateo Sánchez Huamán

Mateo Sánchez Huamán

Executive at Hanbury Strategy | Tech, Telecoms & Digital Policy
Mateo was born and raised in the Peruvian capital, and now lives in Brussels with his fiancée and their Golden Retriever. He currently works at a consultancy advising clients in anything telecoms and tech related. Mateo is also an F1 fanatic, dog trainer, and a guitar player. In Peru, he was involved in LGBTQI+ activism, and now hopes to increase visibility and inclusion across the Brussels bubble.

EU Inside&Out is powered by its community. Whether you’d like to help run events, shape the network’s direction or simply stay in the loop, there are easy ways to get involved. We’re always happy to hear from people who’d like to contribute a little time and energy to the network. Volunteers help us to:

  • Organise community events
  • Support communications
  • Bring in new ideas, partnerships and perspectives

Volunteering is more than just giving time; it's an opportunity to meet new people and directly contribute to a cause you care about. Emma, Dan, Ilaria and Mateo will ask about your interests, our current needs, and find a role where your personal passion aligns with our organisational needs.

You can empower our mission by engaging in one of three powerful ways: joining us as a hands-on, dedicated individual volunteer to lend your time and expertise directly; becoming a generous personal donor whose financial contributions provide essential, flexible resources; establishing a partnership as a corporate entity that collaborates through grants and in-kind resource donations.
